Kurt, Stacy, Amy, Hailey, and Trey...Together Forever!

WARNING: MEGA POST AHEAD...
I have been lazy, or maybe busy would describe it better, for the past little while and have not posted anything that has been going on with us. So here I am trying to play catch up while Amy is taking a nap. I just hope it is a long nap because it usually takes me forever to get things just right!
October is almost gone and it has been a busy month for the Oaks' family. On the 9th, Kurt and I celebrated 4 years of marriage. I told Kurt that he was in charge of planning our anniversary this year and it was nice not to have to worry about it. Most of the day was just like any other day around the house. Amy and I did venture out to the mall to get a silk tie for Kurt. We both enjoyed the time out of the house and Amy loved riding around in her stroller. Then, when Kurt got home he walked in with a beautiful bouquet of flowers that brightened up my day. Just on a side note, when Kurt picked me up for our first date he brought me flowers and at that moment I knew he was going to be around for awhile. I hadn't ever received flowers on a first date before, and I always thought that every guy should give flowers, so when Kurt handed me the bouquet I knew he was a great guy. I gave Kurt his tie (he loved it) and then we went to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory as a family. It was a nice day and I am so glad that Kurt is my husband. I love him so much and can't imagine having anyone else in my life.
Since I was called to be the Primary President, my life has seemed non-stop. Meetings, activities, Sundays, and more meetings, keep me on the go all of the time. I really enjoy my calling and getting to know the kids, teachers, and other Primary leaders that I work with. I never imagined myself in this calling, but I am grateful that I have the opportunity to serve.
We have been busy working on our program this month and I am happy (and relieved) to say that it is over and that it went pretty good, for the most part. I really can't take any credit for putting it all together because my first counselor, Trina McCleary, worked hard on it and did most of the work. I don't know what I would do without the women I work with in my Presidency. They have helped me keep it together!
Mandy celebrated her 23rd birthday on the 23rd of the month and she stopped by the house to pick up a fruit bouquet that my parents, Shauna, and Missy's families sent to my house since she had to work that day. It was nice to spend some time with her on her "golden" birthday. Amy loved playing with the balloon that came with the fruit, and she loved playing with Mandy while she was here. These pictures are for my mom so that she could see what she sent to Mandy!
I couldn't post this without mentioning all that Amy has been up to this month! She sure does keep me busy and I am amazed at all she has learned in such a short amount of time. Kurt went to get Amy from a nap a few weeks ago, and was surprised to see her sitting up in her crib! After she learned to sit up, she figured out that she didn't have to go to bed when we laid her down at night. We had a few days where she was up until after 11:00 because she would sit up and play, or cry, until we came in to lay her down again. And every time she sees me or her dad, she gives us a great big smile that just melts our hearts. What a sweet girl we have.
Now that Amy can sit up when ever she wants, she has also learned to move around to get to what ever she wants. She is almost crawling, so close but not quite there, and she can push her self backwards pretty good. She pulls herself up on things and is never in the same place for long. She is always on the go.
She has started making new sounds too! She says da da da (but I don't count this as her first word because she is not saying da da da to Kurt), ba ba ba, and sssss.
Her first tooth has also started to poke through on the bottom! She has been taking it pretty good so far, a little fussy at times, but hasn't seemed to mind that thing growing in her mouth. I can't wait until it comes in further so that I can take a picture of it!
My friend and I took our little girls to get their first Halloween pictures taken a couple of weeks ago. I am glad that I took every one's advice and got Amy a costume to dress up in. She is one cute bunny and I hope to have more Halloween pictures tomorrow.
And now my baby is 8 months old! She is getting to be such a big girl and not a baby anymore. The time has gone by so fast and has been such an amazing journey. I know I have said this before, but I love being a mommy and taking care of such a precious gift from Heavenly Father.

Guest Post.....
I was reading on one of the sites I like, Light Refreshments Served, when I came across a guest post. I was so excited when I saw that it was Emily! I love to read what she has to say because she writes so good and always has the coolest stuff to post about. I envy her blog and all of the ideas she comes up with. Light Refreshments Served always seems to have great guest posts, but I think this one is the best yet, and I'm not just saying that because I am related (cousin-in-law)!
