Parents Visit and Thanksgiving-November 15-26, 2011

After Trey was born my mom was able to drive out from Colorado and spend some time with us.  She was a huge help with the girls while I was adjusting to having a newborn again and the girls loved having her around, most of the time!  There were a few times when Amy wasn't the nicest 3 year old to be around!

My dad was able to fly into Salt Lake a few days after my mom got here and it was his first time flying all by himself.  He was very nervous about the whole experience but did a great job and didn't get lost or get on the wrong plane!

I was feeling pretty good for just having a baby so we were able to visit Temple Square one day while my parents were here.  My mom was trying to find her old seminary teacher who was working at the new family history library, but he wasn't there that day since it was the day before Thanksgiving.  Since we were already downtown we decided to walk around a little bit.  It was a nice day and pretty warm for November.  Trey did great and slept the whole time we were out!  That was my first adventure out of the house with three kids in tow, and all in all it went better than expected.

I loved having my parents here for Thanksgiving.  They did all of the cooking and cleaning up afterwards, which I felt bad that I really wasn't much help.  The food was delicious and there were enough leftovers to last for a couple days after.  Mandy, Anthony, and Mason joined us for the day and it was funny to watch the kids play together.  Hailey wouldn't let Mason push one of the doll strollers at all.  Even if she didn't want the stroller she would bring it to me so that Mason couldn't have it!

The night after Thanksgiving we decided to bundle the kids up and ride Trax to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights.  Trey stayed home with Kurt since it was real cold out.  Everything was so beautiful with all of the lights, but there were a ton of people so it made it hard to walk anywhere.

I was sad that my parents had to leave the next day.  It was so nice having them to hold Trey while I took a shower, or take the girls out so that I could take a nap.  I am so thankful that they live in Colorado and that it doesn't take more than a day of travel to see each other.

Happy Thanksgiving!
