September 19th, 2010-Vernal, Utah

Kurt is blessed to have his Grandma Oaks and Grandma Pope in his life still. They both live in the Vernal area, which isn't too far away from us, but we haven't been able to make the 3 hour drive out there very often since Amy was born. We had been wanting to make the trip, but with me being in Primary it is hard to miss a Sunday very often. On September 19th we had Stake Conference and decided since it was Grandma Oaks' birthday, that we would load up the kids and drive to Vernal.

Grandma Oaks turned 91 on the 19th and recently had a stroke and went to live in a care center. All of her kids were in the Vernal area during her birthday and decided to throw a birthday party for her. We were happy that we could be there for such a great day.

I love this picture of Kurt's grandparents and their kids

Amy and Hailey's first time meeting great grandma

October 2nd-3rd, 2010
Since we didn't get much time in Vernal in September, we decided to go out during General Conference weekend and spend part of Saturday and Sunday there. We were able to see Grandma Pope on this trip, visit a fun museum, and find time to swim at the hotel swimming pool.

Great Grandma Amy met Hailey for the first time

Amy recently started saying "cheese" when we take her picture!

That is such a great idea! We should take a mini vacation to see Grandma Amy.
